Why is this astonishing? Senior American military officers uphold American values all over the world in the most trying and violent circumstances. They were horrified at what they heard and spoke out against torture and abandonment of Constitutional values by the US Government. Sounds about right and what many have said for years. Good on them.

Since this did not astonish you, perhaps it astonished you that many of the targets of this non-astonishing rebuke were themselves "Senior American military officers" who decidedly did *not* uphold American values.

What's astonishing to me is extending non-citizens constitutional rights. Neither the Constitution nor the Geneva Convention applies to non-uniformed terrorist. But you have made it so with your pettifogging.

I don’t really see Senior officials speak up that much. The last notable example was CAPT Crozier, wondering if this will turn out the same way. Comments are closed.
