Is anyone concerned about defense counsel in these cases? With all the resources flowing to the prosecution, will accused be able to really confront government power? With the word "Victim" being incorporated into official government characterizations and titles under circumstances where that status has yet to be established by law, should defense counsel come up with a new name for themselves? "Counsel for the Innocent"? Seriously, shouldn't we be concerned with ensuring some balance between the prosecution and defense? Or do we already have that, and the new prosecution resources won't upset it? Thoughts?

I am concerned as well. And I agree that the use of "victim" is not appropriate. See Roberts, Victims, Right? 42 CARDOZO L. REV. 1449 (2021).
