The way major news outlets like NYT, WaPo, and NPR are being employed to clear a path for the MJI-IPA makes me think of an AC-130 providing relentless covering fire for a convoy fighting its way into a well-defended city. It's quite impressive, actually - and impressively well coordinated, just like effective close air support. It will be interesting to see if the coordinated narrative holds up as the debate continues to play out.
