If I may, I believe this to be a reference to my comment to a CAAFlog entry on 6/3/2021 called "NYT on Status of MJIA". My comment then was:

"The way major news outlets like NYT, WaPo, and NPR are being employed to clear a path for the MJI-IPA makes me think of an AC-130 providing relentless covering fire for a convoy fighting its way into a well-defended city. It's quite impressive, actually - and impressively well coordinated, just like effective close air support. It will be interesting to see if the coordinated narrative holds up as the debate continues to play out."

Tip of the hat to the editorial team for the incredibly witty title for the post - combining the "AC-130" reference with the "secret sauce" description of command authority by Army COS Gen. McConville mentioned in a more recent comment.

Some of my forthcoming work will address the substantive assertion involving command authority that is presented by the NYT editorial board (as well as many venerated MJ scholars who are involved in the discussion). In the present forum, I'll just say "bravo" to the CAAFlog team. Well played.
